What is Anxiety?
Anxiety is defined as “a feeling of fear, dread, and uneasiness”. This fear, dread, and uneasiness can be temporary or long-term.
Temporary feelings of anxiety are normal, but long-term anxiety could be attributed to an anxiety disorder.

According to the Anxiety And Depression Association of America (ADAA), 31.9% of adolescents ages 13 to 18 are affected by anxiety disorders. According to the Trevor Project, 73% of LGBTQ+ youth reported experiencing symptoms of anxiety. According to the National Survey of Children’s Health, there was a 27% increase in anxiety in youth between 2016 and 2019. This does not factor in the increase during Covid.
